Leaving with ERASMUS

The Erasmus+ program

The Erasmus+ program is managed and financed by the European Commission. It provides a unique cultural and educational opening for students as part of their curriculum, via a stay abroad.

The Student Mobility Project

Organizations active in the fields of education, training and youth will receive support from the Erasmus+ program to carry out projects promoting different types of mobility.

  • Student mobility for study purposes
  • Student mobility for internship purposes

Student mobility can take place in any academic branch or discipline. Students can carry out one or more of the activities described below:

  • A period of study abroad at a partner higher education institution (HEI). The period of study abroad must be part of the student's program of study, either during short cycle or undergraduate studies (Bachelor's degree or equivalent), second cycle (Master's degree or equivalent) and third cycle or Doctorate.
  • A period of study abroad can also include an internship. Such a combination creates synergies between the academic and professional experience gained abroad, and can be organized in different ways depending on the context: either one activity after the other, or both activities at the same time. This combination is subject to funding rules and the minimum duration required for study mobility.
  • An internship abroad in a company or other workplace. Support is available for internships abroad at a workplace during undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate studies, in the case of mobility activities within the countries participating in the program, and up to one year after completion of studies.

Duration of Mobility under the Erasmus+ program

  • Study periods: from 3 to 12 months (including an additional period of internship, if planned).
  • Internships: 2 to 12 months.

The same student may participate in mobility periods for a maximum total duration of 12 months per study cycle, regardless of the number and type of mobility activities.
